Sailing

My son and I are sailing on a lake. It's been a while since I was sailing. I'm teaching him. When I try to explain something he counters, "Why can't you just…" and fills in his own version of how sailing should be conducted. I don't have time to explain tacking or jibing. Suddenly the boat is sunk on the bottom of the lake. We're against a bulkhead at the edge of the lake. My son tries to swim down to the boat but can't find it. I tell him I still have the main sheet in my hand, so I'll go. I find the boat and try to blow air into the capsized hull, hoping that enough air will make it rise to the top. One big exhale. Two big exhales. Wait a minute, I shouldn't be able to breath in under water after breathing out everything. I wake up.
